Machinery Stocks at Insanely Bad Prices
By Chris Hodge - April 30, 2013 | Tickers: BGG, IEX, PHG
There are some great deals in the market right now. While the panic of 2008 is just barely in most investors' minds anymore, some companies are still clinging to low prices because the market has forgotten about them. The companies we're about to discuss, however, are definitely not being sold for bargain-basement prices. The following is a warning list of some companies that may be great to watch but more »

The Quest for Great Small Cap Machinery Stocks
By Chris Hodge - April 12, 2013 | Tickers: BGG, MKSI, RAVN
Small caps are great because they have a lot of potential room to grow, and I like diversified machinery stocks because their underlying companies tend to have stability because their bread and butter is long-term contracts. Let's see whether a few candidates from this group warrant your further attention.

Made in America: Generators
By Robert Hanley - January 9, 2013 | Tickers: BGG, CMI, GNRC
When the lights go out, most businesses idle their production until the electricity is restored by the power company. However, a periodic disruption in utility service is exactly the time when the power generation industry’s products spring into service.

4 Companies that Will Benefit from a Failing Electric Grid
By William Bias - November 5, 2012 | Tickers: BGG, CAT, GNRC, MTZ
An extended power outage lasting for more than one day was a rare event once upon a time. Now power outages lasting for extended periods are occurring with higher frequency. Last June, a wind storm called “Derecho” knocked out power in my local area for 8 days. Other nearby areas was without power for 2 weeks. On the morning of Oct. 30, a snowstorm brought on by Hurricane Sandy knocked out power in my area for nearly 4 days. As I write this, the lights still blink at random giving me concern as to whether to have my generator on standby. It seems that we are in a new reality where a less reliable electric grid is the norm and I believe four companies will benefit.

Should You Buy This Hurricane Winner Now or Later?
By Palwasha Saaim - October 31, 2012 | Tickers: BGG, CMI, GNRC
As Frankenstorm leaves the east coast, Bloomberg estimates economic losses from Sandy to reach $20 billion. CNN reports that over 5.3 million people are going to face long power outages, thanks to this hurricane. Millions are expected to incur losses of property, if hopefully not life, at the hands of mother nature. Yet, there are some who'll win.

Generac has the Power
By 2012-07-09 00:00:10 - July 9, 2012 | Tickers: BGG, GNRC, HP, BWC
When you need power -- and when you want electricity again – I've learned no price is too steep to pay. It's why I'm seriously considering a generator ... and investing in companies that make them, like Generac Holdings (NYSE: GNRC).
A week after a powerful derecho spanked a swath of land stretching from the Midwest to the East Coast, there are still those without power. Ours was recently restored more »
