The price of BP plc (NYSE: BP) rose last month by 11.2% and thus completed one of the best performing months in 2012. Will this rally last? BP Faces New Pressures from Texas Residents
By cris vicari - July 9, 2012 | Tickers: ATPAQ.PK, BP, CHK, CVX, XOM
BP (NYSE: BP) is facing litigation from 50,000 Texan residents regarding allegations that it caused widespread illness in the state.
50,000 people claim that they have been made ill as a direct result of a 41 day period of emissions from one of BP's refineries. The refinery in question was the site of a disastrous explosion, which is also the cause of the emissions. Apart from the more »

TEPCO Deal Keeps Chevron One Step Ahead
By cris vicari - June 26, 2012 | Tickers: ATPAQ.PK, BP, CHK, CVX, XOM
Investors should be pleased with Chevron's (NYSE: CVX) recent actions. It will sell a stake in its Wheatstone project to Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) as part of a deal with the company. I think this will be good for Chevron and should lead to improvements in the stock.
According to this deal, TEPCO will purchase additional liquid natural gas from Chevron. It will also receive 10% of the interest more »

Anadarko's Centerra Delays Could Be a Big Setback
By cris vicari - June 13, 2012 | Tickers: APC, ATPAQ.PK, BP, COG, CVX
Anadarko (NYSE: APC) has experienced some setbacks in its oil drilling operations in the Centerra development in east Loveland, Colorado where the company's oil drilling operations were recently put on hold.
The plans between Centerra and Anadarko to sign a lease deal that would allow for the drilling activities to continue have been temporarily, one must hope, shelved. Anadarko wishes to get hold of the gas reserves that are more »

New Drilling Could Put ATP Oil & Gas Way Ahead
By cris vicari - June 1, 2012 | Tickers: ATPAQ.PK, CVX, NBL |
It was just a few months ago when Noble Energy (NYSE: NBL) announced its discovery of large gas reserves in the Tamar and Leviathan fields off the coast of Israel. It also mentioned how it would like to connect its oil fields off Israeli coast to the 12th block of the Exclusive Economic Zone, located off the coast of Cyprus. I had suspected that Turkey would not keep quiet in more »

Crude Oil is Going to $500 a Barrel (Part 2)
By Paul Franke - March 21, 2012 | Tickers: ATPAQ.PK, COP, DVN, HES, XOP
Today crude oil and related oil producing assets are substantially “undervalued” and misunderstood by Wall Street analysts and main street investors. With seemingly high prices for crude oil and refined products like gasoline, widespread disbelief exists that oil can climb yet higher. On the contrary, the sheer size of record money printing by the U.S. Federal Reserve and a lack of understanding of the Peak Oil problem presently give petroleum quotes a solid foundation to rise markedly in 2012-13.

Most Shorted Stocks #8 – ATP Oil & Gas
By Chad Henage - March 5, 2012 | Tickers: ATPAQ.PK, FST, NFX
I have to say based on ATP, Forest Oil, and Newfield, it seems the best way to play the industry is to stick with the larger players. Without an increase in production and cash flow, I think ATP may be a better play as a buyout candidate than a long term investment. If they disappear, you might find Newfield or Forest Oil taking their place as one of the most shorted stocks in the market. Let me know what you think in the comments section below.

Can These 5 Stocks Make You Rich?
By Michael French - January 31, 2012 | Tickers: ATPAQ.PK, F, INTC, SIRI
Investing is all about risk and rewards; the more risk an investor inherits the greater the rewards they expect to receive. Don’t be mistaken, I am not a risk seeker in fact I’m quite the opposite. However, I believe in the long term, a portfolio with a little exposure to risk will provide investors with higher returns than a conservative portfolio constructed of solely value stock. By constructing more »

5 Trading Ideas Under $10
By Michael French - January 27, 2012 | Tickers: ATPAQ.PK, CCG, HL, LSI, SIRI
Getting into a cheap stock before it takes a steep climb toward the sky is every investor’s dream, but finding the next big thing is easier said than done. Nonetheless, there is no shortage of stocks under $10 a share that will produce results; even if they don’t become the next Google (GOOG) and trade at over $600 per share. Let’s take a look at the following more »

Insider Trading Stocks You Cannot Ignore in 2012
By Tom Gibbs - January 12, 2012 | Tickers: ATPAQ.PK, GEOY, OPK, OI
Identifying a stock that has been subject to a meaningful level of insider buying should not always an instant cue to invest, but it does raise a flag that the company might deserve a closer investigation.
Several academic studies have been conducted on the relationship between insider buying and future investment returns. One particularly popular publication, Investment Intelligence from Insider Trading (Seyhun, 2000), presents evidence that, on average, stocks that more »

Drilling Down on ATPG
By David Talley - January 5, 2012 | Tickers: ATPAQ.PK
On slide 6 of ATP Oil & Gas' (NASDAQOTH: ATPAQ.PK) September 12th presentation at the Rodman & Renshaw Annual Global Investor Conference, ATP values their shares at up to $116. With shares trading around $7.5 the market obviously does not believe the valuations presented at the conference. With such a discrepancy in prices, I thought a closer look at the company was warranted.
ATP provides two valuations in the presentation, the more »

Before the New Year begins, I figure I should make a few predictions for 2012, just for fun. This blog is copied from my CAPS blog post, but modified a little bit.
Here I go:
1. ATP Oil and Gas (NASDAQOTH: ATPAQ.PK) will FINALLY get its footing. There will be a gigantic short squeeze and the stock will fly. I'm actually in the process of synthesizing 30 articles of more »
