20 Things I Hate About Apple

There's 20 things I hate about Apple:
1. When I type on my iPad it turns proper names or unusual words into what it thinks it should be. I know what I meant to write..
2. Steve Jobs, founder and CEO of Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) is gone and the product introductions and news will never be the same.
3. Why does everyone have to call it the Apple "ecosystem"? Can't we call it the Apple "orchard" since that's where Jobs worked and got his inspiration to call the company Apple.
4. I hate that it hasn't split yet.
5. I hate that the Apple stores are so noisy. I mean, its jazzy atmosphere is great but just try to get a tutorial there.
6. I hate that I ever sold a single share.
7. I hate this war Apple has with Google (NASDAQ: GOOG). Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt was once on the board of Apple. They're both tech titans and watching them race to $700 is like watching two raindrops race down a window. Why can't they play nice anymore?
8. I hate the sharp, painful pullbacks on the name when I've been in it.
9. I hate that they didn't offer a slightly larger dividend.
10. I hate that the P/E is sneaking back up again.
11. I hate that they took off the Mac vs Microsoft commercials.
12. I hate most of the Siri commercials for the iPhone 4s except for the one with Zooey Deschanel. Who knew Martin Scorsese could be so annoying?
13. I hate that my best friend didn't buy Apple the fifty times I told her to. She always thought it was getting too toppy.
14. I hate all the articles about Foxconn. I wish Foxconn could just treat their workers right.
15. I hate how dependent I've become on my iPad.
16. I hate that supplier plays like Nuance Communications (NASDAQ: NUAN) and Qualcomm haven't moved as much as Apple. Nuance, the company behind the Siri voice technology, is up 32.18% over 52 weeks while Apple is up 70.35% over 52 weeks. Nuance's 50 and 200 day moving averages are within pennies of each other at $23.66 and $23.26 respectively. It's still down some 20% from its 52 week high.
17. I hate that analysts keep trashing Apple when they've been wrong for 150 points.
18. I hate that everyone and his mother is in Apple.
19. I hate that I couldn't preorder an iPhone 5. I really, really wanted one.
20. I hate that I can't buy Apple until at least two market days days after my Apple posts get syndicated.
So you can see I sort of have a hate/love relationship with Apple. I admire the company and its execution. I love to be in the name and I'm getting tired of the nabobs who say you can't buy it right here day after day. The biggest regret was when I was able to buy some Apple during the flash crash and made some 25% profit in one day. I should have kept it.
Can you buy it right here? About a dozen pundits will say, "No. Wait for a better entrance." They've been wrong since $550.00 with a little volatility in between.
It's still the best retailer in America, if not the world. The smartphone revolution is only in its nascent stages and I think the mini iPad will be "cool". I do think the Amazon.com Fire HD may surprise analysts with robust sales of the Fire HD unless the price point of the iPad mini is close enough to force consumers to make a decision not based on price.
The company has no debt. It has all the hedgies chasing it now. Plus, the fundamentals only get better.
I am positive the iPhone 5 will be a blockbuster and if only they get a decent carrier in China then all bets are off and Apple is off to the races. That said, I’m going to try to keep my yap shut about Apple so I can finally get back in again.
