Intuitive Surgical Builds a Successful Brand, Share Price Plummets?

Shares of Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (NASDAQ: ISRG) tumbled over 10% in the 2 trading days since Dr. James Breeden, president of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), issued a statement about the use of robotic devices in hysterectomy procedures. Dr. Breeden felt compelled to announce that “Robotic surgery is not the only or the best minimally invasive approach for hysterectomy. Nor is it the most cost-efficient.”
